Entering Grades 9 & 10

LEADER IN TRAINING

LIT (Leader In Training) is a specially designed program for our oldest teen campers. The LIT program is divided into three varying experiences.

Spending time learning to work as counselors with younger campers
Camp activities, swimming and day trips
Building life and work skills such as CPR, Leadership, Peer Communication, and Game Facilitation

LIT’s are still campers, although they are trusted with a more flexible daily schedule and greater sense of responsibility. LIT is a 1 or 2 year program.

The CPR certification component of the LIT program equips teens with life-saving skills, ensuring they can respond effectively in emergencies and contribute to a safer camp environment.

Leadership development is a core focus of the LIT program, guiding teens in cultivating essential leadership qualities such as decision-making, teamwork, and problem-solving, preparing them to become leaders not only within the camp but in their broader life pursuits.

The peer communication aspect of the program hones teens’ interpersonal skills, enabling them to connect with and support their peers, resolve conflicts, and foster a positive and inclusive camp atmosphere.

Confidence-building is an integral part of the LIT program, encouraging teens to embrace their unique strengths and abilities, fostering self-assurance that extends beyond the camp experience and into their future endeavors.
